Another excellent choice for your Thanksgiving morning is the Thanksgiving Gobble Trot 5K Run/Walk. This race truly embodies community spirit, offering an optional timing system for those wishing to record their performance, alongside a relaxed walking option. All participants receive a great swag bag containing a comfortable running shirt, a unique finisher towel or giveaway item, and a commemorative medal to mark their accomplishment. A digital collection of photos is also included, allowing for easy online sharing of your race day achievements. Details regarding packet pickup and start times for different groups will be shared closer to the event date, and a virtual run option is available for those unable to attend in person!

The Thanksgiving Gobble Trot aims to be accessible and welcoming to all. Regarding the Ward Parkway Thanksgiving Day Run, a comprehensive schedule of events begins at 86th Terrace and Ward Parkway on November 27, 2025. The day commences early with the Tiny Turkey Trot at 8:20 AM, followed by a Downhill Mile Run at 8:30 AM, a 10K Run at 8:40 AM, and the 5K Run and Mile Walk starting at 9:00 AM. All participants receive a long-sleeve thermal shirt and, as a distinctive finisher award, a delicious 6-inch pie! Complimentary photos are available to capture your race day smiles. For those desiring a traditional medal, it can be purchased during registration. Families and groups of four or more can benefit from a special reduced entry fee.

Parking for the Ward Parkway run requires advance consideration, as Ward Parkway itself will be closed. It is advisable to approach via State Line Road, where parking staff will direct you. Your race time is accurately recorded using a chip attached to your bib, ensuring your start time is registered as you cross the starting line. Results can be viewed at the results tent near the finish line. Awards, including Thanksgiving-themed medals, are given to the top three male and female finishers and the top finishers in various age categories. You can collect your award at the Awards Tent. The race actively supports Harvesters Community Food Network, with options to contribute at registration, packet pickup, or on race day. Strollers are permitted, but please be considerate of other runners. While refunds are not generally provided, switching to the virtual option is possible by contacting the organizers via email. The race will proceed regardless of weather conditions, with provisions for lightning delays or cancellations due to severe weather. No motorized vehicles, roller blades, bikes, or dogs are allowed on the course.
